Northern Arizona Riding Stables

Take a guided trail ride on horseback with Northern Arizona Riding Stables. Offered only in summer. Reservations required.

Where can I go Horseback riding?

There are several locations that offer horseback riding: 

Arizona Trail
This trail is in town and will take you all around Mt. Elden, but not up the mountain. 

  • Location: 4 miles South of Flagstaff, close to Continental Country Club 
  • Length: 9 miles 
  • Season: April to November

Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Trail System
This system of trails includes several trials; the longest one is 5.6 miles long. The trails include: Kelsey Springs Trail, Dorsey Trail, Winter Cabin Trail, Little Lo Trail, and Hog Hill Trail. These trails will take you over and through some beautiful country including spectacular views of Sycamore Canyon. 

  • Location: The trails are located 36 miles South of Flagstaff and can be accessed around Forest Road 56. 
  • Length: 11.3 miles of trails 
  • Season: May to November

Mormon Lake Lodge
AZ High Mountain Trail Rides at Mormon Lake offers horseback rides seasonally each year.  They have a variety of ride options and availability throughout the day.  Our trails run through the Coconino National Forest from the Lodge.

Location: 

Mormon Lake, AZ, just a 30 miles drive Southeast of Flagstaff off Lake Mary Rd.

Season:

May 1st to September 30th each year noting we are closed on Wednesdays

Cost per rider:

30 min $45, 60 min $65, 90 min $85, 2 Hour $135. Plus wagon rides - $25/per person
